Ed Sheeran



Before

 Ed Sheeran was a plain character and came accross as shy but very talented. His earliest videos are mainly live, performance videos but lately he has been making professional ones, and the mis-en-scene has changed drastically.

Ed Sheeran has gone from being shy and nervous with plain clothing (hoodies and jeans) to looking more groomed however he still wears his infamous hoodies to stick with the conventions of his genre but you can tell that they are definitely more expensive.

Ed Sheerans Genre is indie/pop and acoustic, however the song of our choice is mixed with rap/grime.

Ed Sheeran has done a lot of mixes like this so most of his videos have simular elements for example, plain mis-en-scene and not many effects and if so its normally something like black and white.
in one of his recent videos he himself isnt acting, he has a black child doing sign language in his video. whic compared to his earliest video is very different.

 as you can see from the picture his videos are very plain, and always emphasise the 'balck and white' aspect.
Ed Sheeran  has done this because, obviously he is white but he has come from a wealthy background but he has struggled to get where he is, and alot of his music is very urban and portray very controversial stroylines, but he does it so very blantent.
Also when he first started out he was mostly doing live peformances, as his live voice is very good he used to highlight it. Although he still does videos with live performances in it he usually has other artists or other actors playing out the storyline.



Wayfaring Stranger



This is Ed Sheeran one of his first videos. Like i said before its all performance, him smiling and people really getting a sense of who he is and his personality. he is represented as young, funny, urban and realistic. his image is very approachable and he has the sort of image that even mums and nans would love. A lot of the camera work is long shots and close ups of him playing the guitar or the extreme long shot of the auidence singing and dancing and close ups of Ed Sheerans reacations.

Ed Sheeran relates to other artists like Josh kumra, Wretch 32, Paulo Nutini and James morrison in the early days all of these artists are relatable and speak about issues that are sometimes seen as contraversial . These are some pictures of the artist I just mesnisoned.
