CD Digipak Development

Our Final Front Cover of Our Digipak:

We wanted our CD cover to highlight the urban environment in order to emphasize the genre therefore we choose to make the graffiti background dominant throughout. By researching other CD covers with similar artists we understood that the images of the singers had to be large and clear as this helps create a connection between their fans/audience. The costume design was carefully chosen as it clearly represents the typical Indie style since it appears informal, linking with the idea of normality. We made the Ed Sheeran image much bigger than the Mikill Pane image as Mikill was just  a feature on the song so we wanted to make this clear

Our Final Version of The Inside of Our Cover:

We decided that the CD design should be decorated with the 'Little Lady' track lyrics as they play a significant part in his music videos for instance 'The A Team's narrative is formed from the powerful lyrics which Ed Sheeran  uses. I made the background of the inside into another graffiti wall so it stays within the urban theme, as this graffiti wall was mainly red black and white, i made the other inside background red and black so it looks like it has a colour theme.  Again, another large image of the artist is used on the inside cover so the audience stays connected with the artist .

Web page

At first we wanted our page to look plain and simple and just to have basic information.

We then decided that we wanted to at tour dates instead of just the basic information, making it more relevant for our target audience.
we decided this after having a look at other web pages such as; Ben Howard, Wretch 32's and also some of the others in our class.

After looking at our artists Web page we decided that we needed to incorporate the 'Typewriter' Font into our website as well as our CD cover. So we added an image of the the first verse and chorus so that we had to miss out of our actual video.
We thought this worked well as it added a little more to the website and it also introduces a theme.
We also decided to add quotes of what critics and Ed Sheeran had said about his music in order to highlight his talent and to show he is still a normal human being.
We also decided to add a twitter feed on it so that fans could leave their opinions on his page, creating a relationship between and audience, increasing his fan base.
Further more, we decided to add the images of the digipak to promote the CD we also added a quick and easy tool bar so that if fans want to buy it immediately they can do via the website.
Fans can also see the Graffiti on the Digipak which once more highlights his image and promotes his genre style.
