Camilla Smith's Planning Task - Ed Sheeran CD Cover

I gained my inspiration of designing Ed Sheeran's CD cover from his other CDs and from other related Indie artist's CDs. For instance since Ed Sheeran uses black, white and ginger as his main colours I thought that it is important to maintain this technique since this is how his audience is able to recognise him. Also other artists such as Kaiser Chiefs place themselves on the cover in order for their listeners to connect and recognise the band members themselves

Ed sheeran - summer homework re done.

Ed sheeran is in a different musical genre to my original summer homework artist Tupac Shakur, even though he is in the indie/acoustic genre which is normally very different to rap/hiphop, the conventions of both artists style in their music videos and image are surprisingly quite similar.

Examples:

These examples show that to re create one of his videos should not be too difficult as he is not a materialistic artist and prefers to not to be glamorous in his music videos, he wears casual clothing, has an 'ungroomed' look, his locations are either in a studio/stage or in working class areas.

Other artists in the acoustic genre are Jason Mraz, Paul weller, James morrison etc, however i believe that Ed sheeran has a slightly different style to these artists which shows through his image and music videos.

The link above shows Jason Mraz video - I'm yours, which is a very bright happy music video, located in better areas. If you compare this video to Ed sheerans -A team video you will see a big difference in styles, the a team video is all filmed in black and white and has a very serious narrative.

I would say that  Ed sheeran's videos have changed in style over time for example the you need me i dont need you video is a lot more studio like than his previous videos, however it is still very simplistic and it is all shot in black and white.
